Plastron Kapok

rich sound matter

In this project, Jean-François Vrod is inspired by the musical and bodily model of fiddlers of the western oral tradition whose path he often crossed in his research. A fiddler is a small orchestra of his own. Here, he extends this model by adding various instruments. On his feet, noisers, shell shakers, tambourins, mini cymbals. On his knees, shell shakers again, hitting sticks. On the fiddle, various preparations made out of springs and mutes.
Frédéric le Junter, hijacks an array of objects from everyday life, turning them into an abundant noisy and well inspired polyphony. Springs, shakers, horns, cans, bottles… As always is his work, anything that can be sounded counts ! Playing on the floor, he develops a corporeality that allows for a polyphonic musical game. In his way, he also becomes a one-man band.
